Certain doctrinal issues have been brought to our notice wherein Dr. K.C. Johnson has been involved. We interviewed Dr. Johnson in this connection. It was submitted before us that he indeed in one occasion preached in an Assembly in Trivandrum on the subject of worship, but that he was misinterpreted. Dr. Johnson told us: "I believe that Jesus Christ is worthy of worship always as the second person of Trinity and I have always believed it and continue to believe so. If I have inadvertently caused anyone to believe otherwise I am sorry."

As one of the premier Theological institutions of the Assemblies of the Brethren in India, Brethren Bible Institute, Pathanamthitta, stands firmly on Christian Fundamentals and ensures that only such brethren who believe are invited to join the Faculty.

We are in the process of restructuring the Brethren Bible Institute. Dr. Silas C. Nair, a well accepted theologian amongst us, has joined us as Head of the Dept. of Theology. Dr. Johnson C. Philip is in the process of joining us as Head of the Dept. of Research Studies.

It is unfortunate that BBI has been drawn into the picture in the above episode. We want to assure the assemblies of the Brethren in India that those responsible in the Trust and the Bible Institute are fully aware of the theological implications of every statement we make. The brethren are welcome to contact us personally for any legitimate information if needed and in the fitness of things it would be better to do so, instead of going public in the Internet. We have nothing more to add to this and we would not be willing to be drawn into any more discussion on this subject in future.

We have reconstituted the BBI Academic Council and henceforth the following members constitute the Council: Dr. O.M. Samuel (Principal), Mr. K.A. Philip (President), Mr. M.T. George (Secretary), Mr. K.V. John (Vice Principal), Dr. K.C. Johnson (Academic Dean), Dr. Silas C. Nair (Head of the Dept. of Theology), Dr. Johnson C. Philip (Head of the Dept. of Research Studies), Mr. Saji A. John (Head of the Dept. of Old Testament), and Mr. Sunny T. Philip (Head of the Dept. of Information Technology).
